The Contamination of Lake Maracaibo

Shell Oil, together with Esso and Gulf subsidiaries, constructed a deepwater port inside Lake Maracaibo, which can service four tankers at a time. While the port was a great success, Lake Maracaibo has fallen victim to contamination, oil spills, and industrial discharge.
