Binod Ringania is a journalist based in Guwahati, capital city of India’s northeastern Assam state. He has 17 years of experience in journalism and documentation, and has extensively traveled in the restive and hilly regions, home to over one hundred different tribes. The area shares a border with China, Myanmar, Bhutan and Bangladesh.
Mr. Ringania is currently working as consulting editor of Dainik Purvoday, a leading Hindi daily published from Guwahati and Jorhat (Assam), and is also working for the BBC Hindi online magazine. He has been mainly reporting on insurgency, ethnic unrest, border issues, off-beat stories from countryside, forests & wildlife, and tourism, as well as on social and human rights issues.
